Helping people and companies realise deep potential- and build the future we’re here for.
Who I Am
I’m Alan Froggatt. For almost four decades I’ve worked at the intersection of human development, leadership, and innovation- helping people and organisations unlock what’s possible. I am as curious as ever and committed to our individual potential and collective future.
My journey began young. In my teens I trained in hypnotherapy. In my early twenties, I qualified in transpersonal psychodynamics and holotropic breathwork—disciplines that revealed the vast potential of human consciousness. Soon after, I became New Zealand’s youngest practising psychotherapist, with grounding in psychodynamic, Gestalt, and integrative psychodynamic approaches.
That early clinical work taught me something essential: people and organisations are not fixed—they are emergent, capable of transformation. This realisation shaped everything I’ve done since.
What I’ve Built
In 1996 I founded Genratec®, an advanced coaching and leadership development firm. Out of that came the MasterLiving® Program, a six-month journey that has now been completed by more than 7,000 individuals in 16 countries, and adopted by professional coaches worldwide. The program equips leaders, entrepreneurs, and executives to master their world, align commitments, and deliver outcomes of real consequence.
I also designed a six-stage meta-model for innovation and delivery—a practical architecture that integrates systems thinking, strategic design, and completion disciplines into a generative framework. It has been used to guide complex projects, embed cultural transformation, and train leaders in how to design, deliver, and complete with integrity.
Experience That Shaped Me
To broaden my perspective, I studied business thinking with Robert Kiyosaki, sharpening my strategic and entrepreneurial edge. Later, I studied late-stage ego development with Terri O’Fallon, whose pioneering research gave me deeper rigour in applying integral theory to leadership. My work continues to be informed by Ken Wilber’s Integral frameworks and late-stage developmental models.
Philanthropically, I’ve helped build one of the most active startup networks per capita in the world. On the board of facilitators for Startup Weekend (Techstars), I designed processes, mentored organisers, facilitators, and startup teams. Under my leadership, I founded Startup New Zealand which became internationally recognised for its innovative mentoring processes and leadership development frameworks, helping thousands of people take their first steps into entrepreneurship.
More recently, I serve as a member of the Institute of Applied Metatheory, a global think tank with top luminaries advancing humanity’s next step of evolution. Together, we integrate psychology, philosophy, systems theory, and complexity science into new frameworks for leadership, culture, and human futures, a new approach, MetaIntegral.
My Work Today
Through BeGenerative, my most thorough body of work, I bring together these decades of practice into a platform for emergent leadership and transformation for change agents, leaders and organisations. BeGenerative is about applying meta-integral and generative approaches to humanity’s biggest changes and challenges, equipping leaders, teams, and organisations with developmental pathways, deep design and practical structures to author a future that matters.
My philosophy is simple but challenging: extraordinary leadership begins by mastering your interior world. From there, everything flows—clarity, action, innovation, and impact. Who we are and how we perceive flows into thinking, speaking, creating and acting.
I call this the generative path:
Waking up (expanded awareness)
Growing up (vertical development)
Showing up (aligned action)
Standing up (systemic impact)
This is how leaders move beyond inherited defaults and step into true authorship.
The Future is Yours to Create
Whether you’re facing a major decision, leading through change, or ready to unlock the next level of your potential, I can help you see the path, accelerate your progress, and create the outcomes that matter most.
The world is changing fast. The risks and opportunities ahead are enormous. The question is: who will lead what comes next?
If you’re ready to step into your future with clarity, courage, and generative power—let’s talk.
